School of Science and Engineering

For the academic and administrative units of the School of Science and Engineering, where subdomain use by organizations and projects is common, we carried out an inventory of network usage, including domain applications. This is used as the basis for what will be maintained, and we plan to simplify or omit applications when the new university launches.

We contacted each organization about the inventory (Titanet usage survey) starting July 31, 2024, with a deadline of August 30, 2024. Thank you for your cooperation.

School of Medical and Dental Sciences

Please refer to the School of Medical and Dental Sciences Portal. If anything is unclear, please contact the relevant help desk.

Core Network

On August 1, 2024, we began exchanging routes for some public and private addresses between the two universities (communication that does not pass through the firewall). In some cases, routes may not be exchanged due to security policy or licensing considerations.

Domain

Applications to use the isct domain are now being accepted. For details of the policy, please see the link below.

Naming Rules
  • For all names in the top domain, and for the words and phrases that form the basis of subdomain names, the basis must be a word normally used in the English-speaking world — even for abbreviations (acronyms formed from initials) — in view of international usability. As a rule, romanized readings of Japanese or their abbreviations are not permitted.
  • Naming that does not follow the above may be permitted with the approval of the person responsible for the information infrastructure.
  • Regarding the number of characters in a subdomain, except for those based on 1.1(2), the rule is three characters or more; two characters or fewer may be permitted with the approval of the person responsible for the information infrastructure.

Please be sure to apply in accordance with the policy of the academic/administrative unit to which you belong.

IP Addresses

In principle, you can continue to use the IP addresses you are currently using. An inventory is planned for a later date. Some changes may become necessary due to organizational restructuring; we appreciate your cooperation.

With the integration, the on-campus private IP address ranges have been changed. Please take care if your organization or services apply restrictions based on IP address.

About Access Between the Universities

Until the on-campus networks are fully integrated, access to the on-campus networks of both the School of Science and Engineering and the School of Medical and Dental Sciences is via the Internet. For this reason, access between the two universities is limited to communication between their respective global IP addresses.

If you change your access restrictions, please permit the following global IP addresses.
* After network integration, the source address may change to a private IP address.

  • School of Science and Engineering: 131.112.0.0/16
  • School of Medical and Dental Sciences: 202.242.160.0/19

Server Hosting Service

Please note that some parts of the flow differ depending on your affiliation and the application category (new or renewal). For the current list of services and details, please see the Server Hosting Service page.

School of Science and Engineering Affiliation

The DNS/WWW Server Hosting Service can continue to be used. (The titech domain can also continue to be used for the time being.)

Use of the isct domain is being handled sequentially based on applications. Please note that, under the new domain policy, some titech domains will need to be moved under a unit domain or under the FQDN (fixed host name) provision services (spi).
