What is a NOC ID?

A NOC ID is an account used to access the network services provided by the NOC. It can be used on the School of Science and Engineering campuses. (It cannot be used on the School of Medical and Dental Sciences campuses.)

Eligibility

The following are currently eligible for a NOC ID:

  • Permanent staff
  • Non-permanent staff
  • Undergraduate students
  • Master's students
  • Doctoral students
  • Access card holders (added 2024/10/10)

We regret that the following are not eligible:

  • Research students and others
  • Matrix code card holders

How to Create a NOC ID

  1. Log in to the Science and Engineering Portal and select "NOC ID."
  2. On the "NOC ID Account Registration" screen, review the terms of use and click the [Agree and Register] button.
  3. The newly created NOC ID will be shown on the "NOC ID Account Confirmation" screen. A "Notification of NOC ID Creation" email is also sent from nid-query to your m.titech.ac.jp address, so please check it.
About the Password
  • The password is automatically generated as a random string and cannot be specified by the user.
  • You can view it by clicking the [Show/Hide Password] button.
  • If reissuance is necessary, click the [Reissue] button and select [OK] on the confirmation screen.
    * Note that you will need to reconfigure things such as your wireless LAN connection settings.

NOC ID Expiration and Status

A NOC ID expires at the end of the fiscal year (end of March), so an annual renewal procedure is required (see the diagram below).
* If a NOC ID is issued between mid-January and the end of March, the expiration date is the end of the following fiscal year.

  • Valid period (status: Active)
    • The valid period runs from the date the NOC ID is issued to the end of the fiscal year (end of March). (If issued between mid-January and March, it runs to the end of the following fiscal year.)
    • While the status is Active, you can use services that rely on a NOC ID.
  • Renewal period (status: Active / Expired): mid-January to end of April
    • The renewal period runs from mid-January to the end of April.
    • If April arrives without renewal, the status becomes Expired and the NOC ID can no longer be used; however, renewal via the NOC Service page is still possible during this period.
  • Lapsed state (status: Removed)
    • If no renewal procedure is performed during the renewal period, the status becomes Removed and the NOC ID lapses.

How to Renew a NOC ID

A NOC ID can be renewed via the NOC Service page.

  1. Go to https://service.noc.titech.ac.jp/ directly, enter your NOC ID and password on the login screen, and click the [Log In] button.
    * You can also reach the login screen by clicking the [Log in to the NOC Service] button under "NOC ID" on the Science and Engineering Portal.
  2. On the NOC ID management page after login, the [Renew NOC ID] button is shown only during the renewal period (mid-January to end of April). Clicking this button extends the expiration date to the end of the following fiscal year; once you can confirm the extension, the renewal is complete.
    * If you do not perform the renewal during the renewal period, the NOC ID enters the lapsed state (Removed). Lapsed NOC IDs are deleted in early May. If you wish to use a NOC ID again, please create a new one from the Science and Engineering Portal.
